Hi there.  I’m Danielle. I’ve been writing since I was old enough to hold a pen and plan to continue until I can’t hold a pen anymore. J

I started freelance writing about 7 years ago.  I was desperate for another source of income.  I was newly single and I was working in market research.  I was doing a lot of evening shifts (3 evenings Monday – Friday and weekends) and that meant that I was already losing out on time with my kids.  There was no way that I was going to take another job outside of the house that would take me away from them even more!

I knew that there were people out there that were making money online through their writing and I thought if I could do that it would be ideal.  I could do some writing work from home to get us back on our feet and I wouldn’t have to leave my kids.

Well, the writing work served its purpose.  But the more I did it the more that was all I wanted to do!

Over the next few years I was promoted at my job several times.  My income from my day job grew and I got to work only day time hours – while they were in school.  So, it was good.  But I found out that what I really loved was writing.  Even though I didn’t need to be writing at home as much, I loved it and each new job was a challenge.  It was exciting and fun.

Then I got into social media.  And I was hooked.  Tweeting, using Facebook and LinkedIn – I was wild for it!  I was reading everything I could about it and growing my Twitter list and making friends.  Could it help me get more writing work?  You bet it could!

I’ve done a lot of social media work (for myself and clients) and I’ve done a lot of freelance writing (the majority of it for private clients) and this blog is all about sharing what I’ve learned with you.  As a freelance writer, you need to take advantage of every opportunity to promote yourself and that means using social media.

I hope you’ll find some great information on my blog but if there’s anything you can’t find and you have a question please, please, please do not hesitate to send me a message via my Contact page!  I’d love to chat with you!  I reply to all emails!
