After reading Deb Ng’s post on Make Sure the End Justifies the Means I started to think about the time I was putting into writing articles for Bukisa.  Now, I didn’t write loads of them like others have – I think I had 26 up all together.  But was/is it worth the effort?  For me, I decided no.

The first reason was that several of the articles that I published there at the beginning were gone.  I emailed customer service and got no response.  I noticed that they are finally back but it would have been nice to have a response saying it was fixed or that they were working on it.  The second reason is that I logged in today to find that my earnings have actually gone down by about a $1 since the last time I was there.  Perhaps just a glitch but still…

And the bottom line?  If I have nothing better to do I can write articles and sell them on Constant Content or I can sell them as PLR content or I can sell them exclusively at webmaster boards.

So, the 30 articles in 30 Days Challenge is officially over.  I’ll leave my content up that is already there because it is good for samples when bidding on jobs but I won’t spend more time writing there.

Remember a couple of days ago I was talking about the new 31 Days to Build a Better Blog book from ProBlogger? Well, I haven’t gone through all the exercises yet (obviously) but I have read through the book and I have to say it is well worth the buy!

I really liked 27 Must-Read Tips and Tutorials for Bloggers on Day 6. Really, I just can’t get enough of those. Day 8 on Interlink Your Old Blog posts is great. I think that a lot of people don’t even think to do that. But the thing I like the most isn’t on one specific day – it is every day. Every single day has something valuable and something you can do to improve your blog.

So, just a little update on the 30 Articles in 30 Days project.  I’m doing fairy well.  I’ve submitted 30 articles to Bukisa.  Three of them are up and three are still under review.  They have this new review policy.  I’m not sure if they are reviewing everything that comes in or just making random selections.  So far, 4 of the last 6 aticles I’ve submitted have been reviewed though.  Maybe I’m just lucky?

It’s not too difficult though.  I have a list of topics that I’ve already written out so I just need to choose one.  The question is how big of an effect will it have?

I’ve heard of other writers doing similar challenges – writing a certain amount of article over a small period of time so I decided it is time for me to do a challenge of my own.  It’s an experiment in article marketing I guess.  And also to try to build up my casual income.  I’m going to use Bukisa.com because I’ve already got some articles up there and I’d like to see what might happen with a lot of them out there.  I want to see if it can turn into a nice little income stream.

So, 30 articles in 30 days.

I’ve already put together a list of articles I can write.  I was originally going to send them in to Constant Content where they could be sold but I’ll leave that for another time.  I’ve had two articles rejected there and I was looking at the forum and it seems like that is pretty common.  I’m not going to sumbit articles and then guess at what was wrong with them only to have to re-submit them over and over again and potentially not get very much for them.  Maybe I’ll put a bigger effort into that at some point in the future but I think for now I’ll see what I can do with Bukisa.
