Do I Really Need a Facebook Page?

Well, the answer to that really is determined by what you are doing in marketing.  Do you need a Facebook page?  Not if what you are already doing is working for you.  Not if you don’t feel a need to make more money.  Not if you have no desire to connect with your customers.  Not if you don’t want to get noticed on the Internet.

But if you want to make more money, connect with customers (both current and future), and you want to brand yourself on the Internet…YES, you need a Facebook page!

The amount of people that are using Facebook is increasing every single day – despite the fact that Facebook has been around for about 4 years now.  The growth that Facebook has experienced can’t be compared to any other social site out there and it isn’t showing signs of slowing down.

The ways that you can connect with people are growing as well.  With apps, pages, groups, and profiles you can find many ways to make connections with people.

It’s not about sales – it’s about making connections with people that will guide them to that place where you can make the sale.

You don’t have to be a genius or a social marketing junkie to have a Facebook Page.  In fact, unless your business is social marketing, it’s better that you are not.  People like to talk to others on their own level.

All you have to do is make connections with people.  How do you make connections in real life?

  • “Hey, did you hear that XYZ company is shutting down?  Does anyone have the scoop on what happened?”
  • “I just found out that __________ – check it out and tell me what you think.”
  • “I love our new _____________.  What do you think?  Would you have made it any different.”
  • “People keep buying this product from our store.   Do you have one?  What are you using it for?”

Those are just a few suggestions.  Find out who your audience is and what they want to know.  Then give them what they want!

Probably, facebook is the most popular social networking site in the whole universe at this point in time. Millions of people across the globe use facebook on a daily basis. That is the reason why if you intend to sell a product or service, facebook is an excellent place to do that. Creating a fan page would make your product or service known internationally, would certainly increase the number of your customers or clients, would bring you closer to your clients so you would know the things they like and dislike about your product or service, etc. So, what are you waiting for? Go and create a facebook page for your product now.
