Have you ever been so tired that you feel like you could sleep for a week…but you’ve still got a big smile on your face? That’s me. I’m exhausted but not to the point where I can’t function. I’m satisfied and full because I’m doing what I love – writing.
Over the past couple weeks I have been directing my efforts towards gaining writing work that will help me build my career. I’ve been sending out applications and yes, I’ve signed up with a couple of content mills. I don’t think there is anything wrong with content mills – I just wouldn’t make them my bread and butter.
Being tired can be a good thing. It leaves you satisfied. You feel like you’ve really been accomplishing something. But as writers we need to be careful not to take it past that good point. Don’t get so tired that the words are just a blur and you have no clue what you are putting on the page. Take breaks and don’t work ALL the time. Take a day off. Hell, take two days off. How? Plan for it. If you plan to succeed you will. If you plan to take breaks, you’ll be able to!

Content mills like Text Broker and The Content Authority are good because they can help bring in some cash in a pinch. However, I know what you mean – the writing is too boring and too low paying to do long term.
