I agree. It is funny that you say “even if I am guilty of it myself” because I sometimes find that I do spell things wrong on my own blog/sites but when it comes to others’ work I am so much more careful. It is actually one of my goals this year to put as much effort into my own work as to the work I do for other people – and yes, that does include spelling!

Nothing really puts me off more than really bad spelling and it is often a reason why I will leave a site (even if I am guilty of it myself). I think it is fine for a blog or personal site but if you are selling products or have a more professional site you need to invest in getting your copy right, it really does create the first impression

I know what you mean. I naturally use SEO tactics out of force of habit – whether it is asked for or not. But if someone orders content with specific keywords in mind it is much more valuable to the client.

I agree, businesses should hire pro writers especially if they don’t really enjoy it. Good writers can not only string words together effectively, but they also weave in SEO tactics because it’s second nature.
